What is BIS Hallmark?
The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) hallmark is a quality certification that guarantees the purity of gold jewelry and artifacts. It's India's equivalent of global gold purity standards.
The 4 Marks
A properly hallmarked piece carries: the BIS logo, purity grade (e.g., 916 for 22K), Assaying center's identification mark, and a 6-digit alphanumeric HUID (Hallmark Unique Identification Number).
How to Verify
